Photos on this site are presented with descriptions and opportunity for comments. You can certainly enjoy just the thumbnails, but opening the Viewer (Click/Touch the thumbnail) is recommended. Once open, look to the upper right for buttons to close it or its Comments panel. Use the small Arrow at the bottom middle of each picture to display or hide the toolbar, and on the toolbar for the Play, Information and Comments buttons.
